These mashed potatoes are out of this world creamy and delicious all while being dairy free! They make a great Thanksgiving side dish, and are also easy and quick enough to make for a weeknight dinner.
Thanksgiving is already less than a week away, and I have no idea how we’re already so close to the holiday season. WIth the holiday season comes brainstorming of dishes to make for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Every family has their traditional recipes that they make every year like cranberry sauce, stuffing, green bean casserole, pumpkin pie and mashed potatoes! My hope is that this recipe becomes one of those go-to recipes for not just special occasions, but weeknight dinners too! These mashed potatoes are so creamy and delicious that the entire family will love them,(and trust me they won’t be able to tell the difference!) and not just those with dairy intolerances and allergies.
These dairy free mashed potatoes are made with creamy golden potatoes, dairy free butter, dairy free sour cream (or unsweetened coconut yogurt works great!), almond milk, garlic and spices. These potatoes are easy to make too. Once they’re done boiling and are tender, they get mashed and the rest of the ingredients go in and everything melts while it gets mixed together. So easy and so, so flavorful!

Ingredients:
Golden Potatoes- or you can sub yukon potatoes.
Dairy Free Butter- I love and use these Earth Balance sticks. The measurements on the package make them great for cooking and baking.
Dairy Free Sour Cream or Unsweetened Coconut Yogurt- I swear by unsweetened coconut yogurt for any recipe that calls for sour cream. If you’ve ever tasted it, you’ll know it tastes a lot like sour cream, so its a great replacement in baked goods and cooking. I use So Delicious Plain Unsweetened.
Almond milk- or your favorite nut milk or non dairy milk.
Minced Garlic- this is optional, but who doesn’t love garlic mashed potatoes?! It adds a whole new flavor and depth to these mashed potatoes.
Parsley- not only does this herb pair phenomenally with the rest of the flavors, it looks pretty too!
Salt and Pepper- if your potatoes taste like they’re lacking in flavor, add more salt! Salt really brings out the rest of the flavors and ties them all together.
Dairy Free Parmesan Cheese– this is optional and the mashed potatoes are amazing without this, but it’s a total upgrade if you add it!
