This microwave oatmeal is not only quick and easy, it’s delicious and only has 5 main ingredients. This oatmeal is nutrient dense and will leave you feeling full for the whole morning!
We’ve all had those mornings where you know you have a long, busy day ahead. And to make matters worse there’s nothing you can quickly make for breakfast, let alone something that will keep you full all morning or until your next meal. Sometimes the mornings fly by and the intricate breakfast you had planned on making is simply just too long to make. This oatmeal is the solution to all of these problems.
I get it, sometimes oatmeal can be really drab and just unappetizing. But I’m telling you, not this one! This is a fun and delicious twist on your typical morning oatmeal. The flavors are endless for this quick and easy 3 minute microwave oatmeal. But my favorite is this peanut butter chocolate because it adds an extra protein boost!
Now let’s talk about add-ins. Possibly the most important part ;). You can top your bowl of oatmeal off with anything like granola, peanuts, chia seeds, flax seeds, etc. Go ahead and get creative with it!
Ingredients
Rolled Oats- make sure your rolled oats are certified gluten free if sensitive to cross contamination. I use and love these Trader Joes Gluten Free Rolled Oats.
Natural Peanut Butter- I prefer to use natural peanut butter with no added ingredients.
Dairy Free Chocolate Chips- I prefer to use ones that are refined sugar free. These Hu Gems Chocolate are made with only 3 simple ingredients and are sweetened by coconut sugar. I love them!
Coconut Sugar– just a little spoonful to add the right amount of sweetness to the oatmeal.
Almond milk- or your favorite dairy free milk.
Salt- just a pinch to bring out the other natural flavors.
How to make:
Pour
Pour the Rolled Oats in a microwave safe bowl and add water.
Microwave
Microwave oatmeal for 1 minute – 1 minute 15 seconds. Stir oatmeal.
Add
Add the peanut butter, coconut sugar, dairy free chocolate chips, and salt to the oatmeal and mix. Next add the almond milk and mix up.
Top
Top with your favorite toppings and enjoy!
Toppings and Add-Ins
Sometimes the toppings are the best part! I love adding a crunch to my oatmeal as well as other nutrient dense add-ins. Here are some of my favorite, but feel free to get creative!
Peanut Butter Drizzle
Chocolate Drizzle
Dry Roasted Peanuts
Chia Seeds
Flax Seeds
Granola
Shredded Coconut
Extra Chocolate Chips
