Ingredients in this Oreo Cheesecake Dip Recipe:

Cream Cheese- you can use regular or dairy free cream cheese in this recipe. For dairy free cream cheese brands, I love and use Violife. Not only does it not break the bank, but it’s super versatile and can be used in baking or cooking with amazing results.

Powdered Sugar-

Whipped Topping- you can use regular or dairy free Whipped Topping (aka Cool Whip). I love TruWhip Vegan or Cocowhip for dairy free versions.

Oreos- use your favorite kind, regular or gluten free! Double stuffed are my go to’s but you can also use a different flavor to change it up!

Vanilla Extract

Ingredients for Oreo Dip.

How to make Oreo Dip:

In a large bowl using a hand mixer, or a stand mixer fitted with a paddle attachment, mix the cream cheese, powdered sugar and vanilla together.  Fold in the whipped topping and Oreos with a rubber spatula.

Transfer to a serving bowl and garnish with additional Oreos.

Refrigerate until ready to serve.  Serve with anything you’d like such as strawberries, graham crackers, teddy grahams, vanilla wafers or Oreos.

What to dip in Oreo Dip?

My favorite dippers to dip in this Oreo dessert dip are fresh strawberries, Oreo’s, vanilla wafers, graham crackers (regular or chocolate), pretzels, chocolate chip cookies, Teddy Grahams, fresh apple slices, etc. The possibilities are endless!

Tips and Tricks for the best Oreo Cheesecake Dip:

Thawing the Cool Whip: The best way to thaw frozen whipped topping is to take it out of the freezer and place in the fridge for at least 4 hours or overnight.

Crushing the Oreos: I like to crush the Oreos in a Ziploc bag with a rolling pin to create various sized pieces.  I don’t want the oreos to be finely crushed, I like there to still be decent sized chunks.

Fold in the Whipped Topping: Make sure you gently fold in the whipped topping and Oreo pieces. If you whip it together, the whipped topping will deflate and it won’t be as fluffy.

Flavor Variations: Use any flavor Oreo in this dip (peanut butter, mint, etc), or add in mini chocolate chips when you fold in the Oreo pieces.

Whipped Cream: Don’t want to use whipped topping? Feel free to whip up fresh, homemade whipped cream in replacement on the whipped topping. Don’t forget to add some powdered sugar and vanilla extract. You can also make it dairy free by using dairy free heavy whipping cream.

Frequently Asked Questions:

How to store leftovers?

If you have any leftover dip, tightly cover the bowl with plastic wrap or transfer to an airtight container and store in the refrigerator for 2-3 days. Note that the Oreo’s will not stay crunchy so you can add some fresh one’s back in right before enjoying.

Can I freeze this Oreo Dip?

I wouldn’t recommend it. When the dip thaws, the texture of the dip changes and the Oreos are soft and mushy.

What is the best way to thaw frozen whipped topping?

The best way to thaw frozen whipped topping is to take it out of the freezer and place in the fridge for at least 4 hours or overnight.

Can I use low fat cream cheese?

If you are using regular cream cheese and not dairy free, regular or low fat both work great in this recipe. Same applies to the whipped topping. You can use regular or low fat cool whip.

Can I use a food processor to crush the Oreos?

I wouldn’t recommend it. If you try to crush the Oreos in a food processor, you’ll get crumbs as opposed to pieces and chunks that we want for the dip.

Can I make this in advance?

Yes! You can make this up to 24 hours in advance, but I wouldn’t go more than that. I love to make it either the night before or the morning before serving. This way the ingredients are chilled and the flavors are even more marinated together.
