Ingredients in Homemade Honey Mustard and Onion Pretzels:
Pretzels- if you are using regular pretzels, you can use sourdough hard pretzels or pretzel rods. If gluten free use Snyder’s Pretzel Rods. We are breaking the pretzels into pieces, but if you are not gluten free, you can skip this step and use sourdough nibblers.
Coconut Oil– use a naturally refined coconut oil for a neutral taste and smell. You can also use another neutral oil like vegetable or canola oil.
Honey
Yellow Mustard
Onion Powder

How to make Homemade Honey Mustard and Onion Pretzels:
Break the pretzels into pieces: Transfer the pretzels to a ziploc bag. Using a hammer or rolling pin, break the pretzels into pieces. Transfer the pretzel pieces to a large bowl.
Make the sauce: Melt the coconut oil by your preferred method. Add the honey, mustard and onion powder and mix together until combined.
Mix: Pour the honey mustard and onion sauce over the pretzels and mix into the pretzels until all pieces are evenly covered.
Transfer and bake: Transfer the pretzels to a parchment lined baking sheet and spread into an even, single layer. Bake according to the directions below in the recipe card.

Tips and tricks for the best Honey Mustard and Onion Pretzel Pieces:
- If not gluten free, you can use Sourdough Nibblers and skip the step of breaking the pieces.
- If you love onion, or want a more robust taste, add more onion powder. I recommend tasting the sauce before adding to the pretzels and then adjust to your liking.
- Make sure to spread the pretzels into an even, single layer on the baking sheet so all the pretzels bake evenly and do not get soggy.
How to store Homemade Honey Mustard and Pretzel Pieces:
Store these pretzels in a sealed container at room temperature for 1-2 weeks.
