Reasons to love Blackberry Wine Spritzers:
- Delicious and easy homemade blackberry syrup
- Can use champagne or prosecco
- Can easily be made into a mocktail
- Refreshing drink that can be enjoyed all year round
Ingredients in Blackberry Spritzers:
Blackberries
Honey- can also sub granulated sugar or agave
Sparkling Wine- can use champagne or Prosecco. For a mocktail option, swap out the wine with sparkling white grape juice, sprite or club soda for a less sweet option.
Sparkling Water- I like to use blackberry sparkling water (aka seltzer) for an added blackberry flavor. You can also use regular club soda or plain seltzer.
Tools needed to make Blackberry Wine Spritzer Recipe:
- Measuring cups and spoons
- Sauce pan
- Wooden spoon or rubber spatula
- Fine mesh strainer
- Glass bowl
- Wine glasses or mason jars– these are both the wine glasses and mason jars I use.
How to make Blackberry Wine Spritzers:
Make the blackberry syrup: Combine the blackberries and honey in a saucepan. Heat over medium heat until the blackberries are soft enough to break down. Mash the blackberries and strain the syrup from the seeds and larger pieces using a fine mesh strainer. Let the syrup cool down in the refrigerator.
Make the drink: Pour the blackberry syrup into a wine glass. Add the sparkling wine and then top off with the sparkling water. Garnish with blackberries and mint.
Tips for the best Blackberry Wine Spritzers:
- You can use champagne or Prosecco for the sparkling wine. I used Cupcake Vineyards Prosecco and loved it. They’re one of my favorites!
- For mocktails: replace the sparkling wine with club soda, sprite, sparkling white grape juice, or with more blackberry sparkling water.
Can you store leftover spritzers?
I wouldn’t recommend it! These are best when enjoyed immediately after making. You can however, prep the blackberry syrup beforehand and store it in the fridge, and then assemble the drinks when ready to serve.

Notes
- This recipe makes 1 spritzer, but can easily be doubled or tripled or be made into as many drinks as you need. The homemade blackberry syrup yields 6 ounces but each drink only calls for 2 ounces. The syrup can be stored in the fridge for future use if there is some leftover.
