Ham is by far my favorite meat for any holiday whether it’s Easter, Christmas or even Thanksgiving.

This easy ham recipe is not only delicious and yields a flavorful and juicy ham, it’s versatile too. It works for just about any cut of ham, cured or uncured, boneless or bone-in, spiral cut, etc.

Slow cooking the ham in pineapple juice and brown sugar, and coating the outside of the ham in a brown sugar glaze gives this ham SO much flavor and prevents the ham from drying out.

Prepare this ham in the morning and let cook through the day, and it will save you time, stress and oven space!

Have leftover ham the next day? Make this eggless Leftover Hashbrown Casserole– so much flavor and the perfect dish to make when you have leftover ham. It’s great too when you want to change it up and not have the same leftovers.

Happy cooking!

Ingredients in The Best Crockpot Ham with Pineapple:

Ham- you can use boneless or bone-in, cured or uncured, butt end, ham shank, center slice, or spiral cut. Just make sure your ham is already pre-cooked.

Pineapple Juice + Pineapple- you can use a can of pineapple slices or chunks. We’re using both the juice from the can and the pineapple.

Brown Sugar

Dijon Mustard- if you do not have dijon, you can use regular or spicy brown mustard in a pinch.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Cloves and Ginger

Tools needed to make Crockpot Ham with Pineapple:

  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Glass bowl
  • Fork or rubber spatula
  • Can opener- if your can of pineapple does not have a pull tab
  • Crockpot- I used this 7-quart crockpot and use it for all of my soups, stews and roasts. It’s also very affordable!
  • Meat thermometer– if you don’t have a meat thermometer, you need one! This is the digital thermometer that I have and use. It’s not only super affordable, but you can use it as a candy thermometer too. This ensures that your meat is safe to consume without you over cooking your meat just to make sure it’s fully cooked. We’ve all been there! And trust me, now that I have a meat thermometer I will always use it and never go back.

How to make The Best Crockpot Ham with Pineapple:

Make the glaze: Combine the brown sugar, dijon mustard, ACV and spices together in a medium bowl.

Prep the crockpot: Add the pineapple juice to the crockpot. Sprinkle half of the brown sugar glaze in the pineapple juice.

Prep the ham: Remove the ham from the packaging and remove any glaze packets. Place the ham flat side down in the crockpot, and cover the top of the ham with the remaining half of the brown sugar glaze.

Cover and cook: Place the lid on the crockpot and cook on low for 4-6 hours, or until the internal temperature has reached 145 degrees at the deepest part of the ham. If the lid does not fit on the crockpot because the ham is too big, take tin foil and tightly seal the top of the crockpot and then place the lid on top.

Rest and slice: Once the ham has finished cooking, remove and let the ham rest for about 15 minutes so the juices can redistribute, settle and seal inside the ham. Do not skip this step as it is very important because this will help yield a flavorful and juicy ham. Slice against the grain if not spiral cut and serve. Top with the brown sugar glaze and pineapple if desired.

Tips for the best Crockpot Ham recipe:

  • If your ham is too large for your crockpot and the lid doesn’t fit on, tightly seal tin foil on top and then place the lid on. As long as you tightly seal it, it won’t take any longer to cook and you still get a flavorful and juicy ham.
  • If you want the glaze to be thicker, make a slurry out of 1 Tablespoon milk of choice and 2 Tablespoons of either cornstarch, tapioca flour or arrowroot starch. After removing the ham (and pineapple chunks or slices), turn the crockpot onto high. Once the glaze is simmering, whisk in the slurry and continue to whisk and cook until the glaze thickens.
  • Make sure to let the ham rest for at least 15 minutes. This lets the juices settle and seal inside the ham and will produce a moist and juicy ham.

How to store leftover Slow Cooker Ham:

Fully slice the ham and remove all the meat. You can store leftover ham in the fridge for up to 3-5 days. Reheat in the oven at 275 degrees until heated through, or reheat in a skillet on the stovetop (my favorite way!).
